Of course Paris is much smaller than New York City. However, the biggest issue is that the Paris map doesn’t include the RER. The RER isn’t a subway, but it is very similar. Paris also has a commuter rail line called the TER. The ability to use easily-connected mass transit to get out of the city is a huge difference.
